Food is Healing...One Bite at a Time

I recently had the privilege of speaking at a Christ-Centered Healing Conference about how Food is Healing.

What we put in and on our bodies is one of the most intimate things we can do for ourselves each day. Because we are children of God made after our divine creator we are told to keep our bodies as temples. 1 Cor 3:16-17

Some of my notes from my presentation...

1
Eating is one of the most intimate things we can do for ourselves each day.

How we feel when we eat certain foods?

When our bodies are in a sanctified, purified state, our spirit can open up hidden treasures, knowledge's and greater understandings that will fill our mind. Because of this our intellect will be clear and active as our bodies are clean and pure. As we treat our bodies with respect, our spirits will be in the “driver’s seat” not our bodies-for the natural man is an enemy to God.

What we can receive…

Love your Food it will Love you Back

Tad R. Callister said “the spirit quickens all the intellectual faculties, increases, enlarges, expands, and purifies all the natural passions and affections, and adapts them, by the gift of wisdom, to their lawful use. It inspires, develops, cultivates, and matures all the fine-toned sympathies, joys, tastes, kindred feelings, and affections of our nature. It tends to health, vigor, animation and social feeling. It invigorates all the faculties of the physical and intellectual man. It strengthens and gives tone to the nerves. In short, it is, as it were, marrow to the bone, joy to the heart, light to the eyes music to the ears, and life to the whole being.”

1 Cor 3:16-17 Our bodies are Temple of God. What is the intent of our heart?

Why is it so important to keep our bodies clean?

Our bodies are sacred. 1 Cor 6:19-20

We are His literal children made after His image. Our bodies are magnificent creations and gifts given from God. We are stewards of this great gift and when we take care of our body and protect our bodies, He is well pleased and sends us more blessings!

Russell M. Nelson said, “Remarkable as your body is, its prime purpose is of ever greater importance-to serve as tenement for your spirit. Abraham taught that our spirits existed before and shall have no end for they are eternal. Your spirit required a body at birth and became a soul to live in mortality through periods of trial and testing. Part of each test is to determine if your body can become mastered by the spirit that dwells within it”

God has given us everything we need on this earth to sustain and bless our lives, health and give us strength.  What has life can bring us life.

Jeff Olsen author of the Slight Edge said, “Life means health. The healthier you are, the more life you experience. Better health not only lets you live our all the days of a longer life, it also lets you live more life in each and every one of those days. Poor health is like a cloudy, smoggy day: it cuts off the sunlight. Let your health get bad enough, and you lose your life altogether.”

There might be attachments we need to heal in addition to eating clean.

The energy, thoughts, actions can all directly affect our food therefore affecting us-whether that is positive or negative.

Dr. Edward Taub says:
Wellness is the dance of life that celebrates infinite and eternal harmony. It is the dynamic activity of caring for your body as the home for your soul; the enriching quality of striving to fulfill your highest potential; and the elevating state of filling your life with love. To achieve wellness is to attain the point of balance where the energies of body, mind, and spirit are so finely attuned to each other that distinctions between them fade away. [Seven Steps to Self-Healing(New York: DK Publishing, 1996), 24; emphasis in original]
Different Foods have different energies, frequencies and this is why some foods can cause illness and likewise heal illness. For this same reason, different foods speak to us differently. They are healing us, one bite at a time. And because we are so uniquely different, no diet is the same for 2 people.
Let’s go back to the beginning: Adam and Eve-they we told to “Tend and Cultivate”-put energy and love into their food and it will sustain your health.

Food and Nutrition from the earth, work simultaneously with our bodies and spirits to aid in growth, nourishment and cleanse our very blood streams. If we adhear to the promises given, the Lord will strengthen us and allow that nourishment to flow in a purified state throughout our bodies just as blood is the nourishment that flows to our brain to fed it.

Trust and believe that the promises and blessings cannot be withheld if we adhear and obey. God will keep His promises because He is a law abiding God and He will unfold great mysteries to us as we dedicate our lives to truth, even truth in what to eat and what is not good to eat.

The adversary is in the food source. The do not have bodies and attack certain foods that radiate at their level because they want to bring down what they can’t have. Any way that the adversary can harm us-it will happen.  Example of all BAD things in food.

1 Cor 9:4 Have we not power to eat and to drink?

Prayer is our greatest connection to our Father in Heaven.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

We know that God can do ALL things. But that scripture says, “WITH GOD” thus prayer and asking Him to Bless and Sanctify our food and water. It can be done. God is greater than the adversary and if He put things on the earth to sustain and bless our lives, He can bring it back to its highest blueprint and sanctified state.

1 Cor 15:44,46 All things that were made spiritual first.

Let us ASK in prayer.

Our water is constantly exposed to contaminates.

Dr. Larry Dossey, a leading medical proponent of prayer, says:
You think positively. And positive thoughts aren’t confined to your brain. They set in motion a chain of events that has been defined physiologically. We know that expectation and suggestion achieve a lot of fabulous changes in the immune system and probably every other organ in the body.
When you get into a meditative, prayer-like, contemplative frame of mind, the metabolism slows down, the immune system is refreshed, blood pressure and heart rates subside, blood lactate level falls, and oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production are diminished. A lot of changes happen, the result of which is that the body becomes healthier. . . .
But most people probably aren’t interested in that level. They want to know, “When I pray, does it work or not?” I think that if you look at the evidence, you can resoundingly say, “Yup! This has a healthful effect and here’s the laboratory proof.” [Peter Barry Chowka, “Prayer Is Good Medicine: An Interview with Larry Dossey, M.D.,” Yoga Journal, no. 129 (July/August 1996): 63–64; emphasis in original; also “Larry Dossey, MD: The Interview by Peter Barry Chowka,” http://members.aol.com/pbchowka/dossey2.html]

Thoughts, Love, Energy-Our intent of what we put in our food makes a difference.

Loving our bodies is a divine attribute. When we compare, lookdown or have “what is beautiful” ideas in our head-it is not real. STOP!! All lies to pull us masterfully down. Because our loving Heavenly Father made us each perfect. That’s right-We are perfectly made because we are made after Him.

Likewise, what we think about and tell ourselves about our food is what we put in our bodies.

Jeff Olsen said, “Your thoughts multiply themselves by compounding interest and over time cover your mind. This is true of positive thoughts and negative thoughts. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Forget wishing-it is a matter of what you think. PERIOD. Because what you think, multiplied by action plus time, will create what you get. You must train yourself how and what you think”

Faith is the assurance we have of things not seen. Faith protects health and promotes healing by strengthening the body against the physical changes that can accompany stress. In the same way it can even affect the course of a disease. A review of studies confirms the power of faith over physiological processes (see “More Than Just Placebo: Review Confirms ‘Healing’ Effects,” New Sense Bulletin 16, no. 8 [May 1991]: 1–2). Faith has been shown to influence microbes, plants, animals, and human beings, even from a distance.

Faith cannot exist with Fear

Remember-God is over all.

Man is a spiritual being, a soul, and at some period of his life everyone is possessed with an irresistible desire to know his relationship to the Infinite. . . . There is something within him which urges him to rise above himself, to control his environment, to master the body and all things physical and live in a higher and more beautiful world. [True to the Faith, comp. Llewelyn R. McKay (Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1966), 244]
You can’t change overnight. It takes time, but well worth the effort and investment.

Christ is our ultimate Healer, turn to Him and He will make us whole.
